Dane Cook! Dane Cook!
by Chet
Yesterday was Pearl Harbor Day and girlfriend’s birthday. For the last month or so I’ve been in charge of planning her birthday. For weeks she thought we were just going out to dinner with a few friends, but as her birthday neared she learned that all of her friends had already made plans on her birthday. Last week she was very upset by this. She told me that she felt like no one really liked her anymore. She had even resigned to sitting in her room and eating, chocolate, ice cream, and watching cruddy chick flicks. So yesterday she had a meeting, and while she was at the meeting I ran into town and got her some cards, flowers, and a gift. I gave her the flowers, the card, and one of the gifts when she came home. We went to lunch at Five Loaves Deli. Delicious sandwiches and soups; everyone should try it sometime in the future.
After lunch we drove around Huntsville taking care of some business with our house. I’ll have to talk about that later.
We went back home and hung out. I told her to go get into the car because we were going for a drive. I hopped onto I-45 and headed south to Houston. We were almost to Conroe before she asked where we were going. I told her to look in the glove compartment and there she found her second card and our Dane Cook tickets. She was extremely excited about them.
We got to the Toyota Center and found our seats. We were so close that we could see him sweat. Anyway, Dane Cook is a very funny man! He told some of his older jokes, but then he also had a lot of stuff that I hadn’t heard before. We both really loved it.
We went back home and ate; then we watched a movie.
I know this isn’t really that exciting of a blog or anything, but I saw Dane Cook last night and you didn’t!
