Tuesday, Tuesday, Tuesday…Except, today is Wednesday.

by Chet

What makes the title of this post embarrassing is that the only reason today feels like Tuesday is because “House M.D.” did not air last night. Instead we got Game #4 of The World Series. Personally I find baseball boring when watched on television, but to each his own I suppose. I suppose that it is rather odd that the rotation of the days of the week in my brain rotates around two television dramas; Tuesday is House day, and Thursday is “Grey’s Anatomy”. Of course there are a few other shows I enjoy watching on a weekly basis: Private Practice, C.S.I. Las Vegas, and South Park (SP has been severely disappointing the last two weeks. Hopefully the real comedy will return this week. I didn’t grow to love this show solely because of poo jokes and over abundant cursing.) . Grey’s and House just happen to be my favorite of them all, and they air on T-days which I find are good indicators of how well my week is passing. So when one or both of the shows do not air on their set day my week is thrust into chaos. I think that may be some kind of indicator about my personal life, but I enjoy how I spend my free time so I declare that I am fine.

When my alarm went off at 8 a.m. and I thought it was Tuesday; I was angry. I was thinking, “Why is the alarm set for 8 on a Tuesday? There’s no class until 9:30!” Slowly my brain came to and I remembered that it was in fact Wednesday and I did have an exam in Introduction to the Mass Media. I jumped out of bed, sped through my notes quickly before nine rolled around. After I finished glancing at my notes, I moved on to my Knot Theory homework.

“Use Reidemeister Moves to prove that the 211 Tangle is the same as the -1-2 2 Tangle.”

This assignment had flustered me because I couldn’t figure out how to draw a vertical -2 tangle. I know none of this is making any sense to any of you but it makes me feel better. I never finished this homework, I just jotted down the drawings I could figure out and moved on.

I took the MCM exam. I feel pretty good about it. I went to Knot Theory. Abbi figured the homework out and it was pretty amazing, I don’t think I ever would have figured it out. Dr. J gave us more homework and I have to do that soon. I also need to read for my Journalism class.

Add-ons to Previous Posts

There are a couple things that I seem to have neglected to mention in my previous posts that are fairly important to me.

I think I have my first “official” internship set up and ready to happen. The internship will be under the City of Huntsville helping put on a Battle of the Bands. I owe this to my wonderful girlfriend and her magnificent sense of hearing. We were at the SGA Downtown Music Project’s first show at the Old Town Theatre when a man named Paul Shiver came up to us and was talking about everything he does with the theatre and the city. There was a band performing on stage so that was all I could hear, and I was just nodding my head. Nicole on the other hand could hear exactly what Mr. Shiver was saying. When he left she asked, “Did you hear him about the Battle of the Bands?” I hadn’t but I quickly left her at the light board and went to speak to him. He said he would love to have me helping, and that he was great friends with one of the faculty members here on campus and he could set up the project as an official internship for me. That my friends is beyond exciting!

I have been talking about Knot Theory in most of my post, but I haven’t really explained what it is. I know that I cannot explain it so I will simply link you over to its Wiki on Wikipedia…Knot Theory on Wikipedia.
