Busy, busy…That’s how one could describe me. That is if their audience appreciates a liar.

I don’t even remember the date of my last blog post. I kinda feel bad that I haven’t been writing. I have gotten some more traffic to the site lately, and I have had repeat visitors. I must be a rather disappointing blogger since I only update every one to two weeks. I should probably build my fan base a little more before I start disappearing like that! However, I do have the best excuse ever and you’re all going to believe it and accept my absence, unlike my professors. I am taking 3 writing enhanced classes this semester, and while I love to write, this is a lot of work for me. I have been writing pretend press releases and letters and designing letter head and business cards! There’ is always so much going on!
That’s enough whining on my part though. There are a couple of things I want to catch you up on. As some of you know I have a fish tank. For the last few months the only things that inhabited it was a plecostomus, dubbed Princess, and a little electric blue guppy, the Blue Bastard. Last week girlfriend and I decided that we were tired of our tank looking so bland, so we purchased four Red Platys from PetSmart. After we got the platys home and accustomed to our tank we released them to join Princess and the bastard. Within minutes Blue Bastard was stalking them and nipping their fins! After an hour or so of watching him we realized he wasn’t going to stop till he killed them. So we went to Wal-Mart! Our goal was to purchase a small one gallon tank to keep the Blue Bastard in from now on. As we were purchasing said tank I got distracted by the other fish at Wal-Mart. We found a spotted green puffer fish; he is the cutest little fish that you have ever seen! We decided to take him home almost instantly! Of course we then thought it through and decided to find out if he would bite the fins off of our platys. We learned that they are pretty docile fish, unless of course you’re a crustacean in the puffer’s tank, then you had better watch out! On our way home from Wal-Mart girlfriend said that we should name it Barbie, I laughed and said let’s call it Klaus Barbie! I’m not anti-Semitic or anything I just think it is a hilariously ironic name for a fish! Let me know what you think.
I spent the entirety of this last weekend in Denton, Texas for the 10th Annual McNair Scholars conference. It was a lot of fun. Some friends of mine presented their research and got great marks by the PhDs in the room. There were some rather hilarious experiences from this journey though. Girlfriend and I drove up with a friend on Friday afternoon. As we approached Dallas we took exit 271 off of I-45 North so that we could switch drivers. Bad move! Exit 271 landed us in Hutchins, Texas which if I quote Travis correctly looked a lot like he imagined Hell to look. This town is closed, boarded up, home to a state prison, and a roofing tar plant. The melancholy grey skies didn’t really help the image, but all in all this was the most terrifying city I had ever visited. It is also the only town I have ever been in where I actually half expected Leatherface to appear at any moment! After ten minutes or so we finally figured out how to get back onto I-45. I wish I had pictures.
Our journey continued up through Dallas which is where I saw this car:

This guy’s life sucks. I would have to be really, really desperate for work before I drove this thing! It’s a pest and rodent control company by the way.
While in Denton we visited a used book store called Recycled. This was the most amazing book store ever I think. It was built into an old opera house, but now it’s two stories of used book, movie, and music goodness. I bought three books, two CDs, and two movies for less than $45! No way right?! It was great. Especially since I got Bayside’s The Walking Wounded for $1.00! Best deal ever!!
Anyway, that was my weekend. I have an adventure in buying vehicles blog that I want to type but it will take more than just a few minutes to sputter out. Oh! Also, I have been inspired to start a web comic. What do you guys think? I will post a sample whenever I get it drawn up. Hopefully people will like it, and even if they don’t I enjoy it so I will post them anyway! Ha, ha!
Until Next Time,
